Down Mexico Way is a 1941 B Western of the Singing cowboy variety. The film was directed by Joseph Santley and stars Gene Autry and his loyal sidekick Smiley Burnette. The plot of the film is the standard good guy in the white hat saves the poor villagers from the bad guy in the black hat. In this case Gene Autrey rescues the townspeople of Sage City who are victims of a nefarious scam.
